Punjabis need to give a rebuff to Congress
Punjab Congress which has for long been indulging in dubbing Punjab as bankrupt and youth as drug addicts needs a strong rebuff from the Punjabi community.
Punjabis need to rise above petty interests and counter the forces indulging in defaming and denigrating the image of State by dubbing Punjab as bankrupt and Punjabis as drug addicts to perpetuate their rule by dubious means. Congress has always undermined the achievements of Punjabis in general and Sikhs in particular for their own cheap political motives.
Congress tarnishing Punjab
It is a fact that while Sikhs were being appreciated worldwide for their innovation, hard work and discipline, back home their (Punjabi’s) image is being tarnished systematically. Obviously it is being done with an ulterior purpose. There is a sinister design and a smearing campaign by the Congress on social media. These elements were acting on behest of forces inimical to Punjab which was heralding into a new era of inclusive development in all sectors. Punjab was being projected as a State facing a serious crisis of drug addiction. This was bound to affect the flow of investment to Punjab.
It is time all Punjabis across the globe join hands to not let anyone to defame Punjab and Punjabis. Let Punjabis visit Punjab to see for themselves the real Punjab, the pace of growth and development. Punjab’s youth is setting new milestones in sports, academics, in civil services and in the Armed forces.
Punjab best on all parameters
On most parameters, Punjab has done well be it creating world class infrastructure, be it in attracting investment, the jump in revenue generation and in launch of people friendly schemes. During Congress regime from 2002 to 2007 the gross VAT collection was Rs 19,960 crore which witnessed a significant increase to Rs 44,209 crore from 2007–12 with further increase to Rs Rs 75,147 crore by the end of year 2015. In fact there is a reduction in State’s debt growth from 2009 and it has reduced 1.8 percent in debt growth. Punjab had also improved in Debt GSDP ratio. Today Punjab is a power surplus state and it is first state having 4/6 lane highways connecting all the major towns”.
Even World Bank lauds Punjab
The World Bank had declared Punjab as best state in the country for Investment in view of its single window system. Punjab has been rated Number One in respect of Governance Index which is primarily because of stupendous success of State’s Governance reforms drive. In terms of overall development index, Punjab has been ranked no.2 behind Goa. The state is likely to get 4G connectivity this year and Punjab would be first State in country to accomplish this feat.
Congress is deliberately ignoring all the development and achievements of Punjabis in general and Sikhs in particular but is focusing to target Punjab to show to the world that all is not well with this state which has a glorious past. That calls for all Punjabis the world over to give a strong rebuff to a force like Congress in national interest.
