Student terms Captain, a ‘Chronic Absentee’ from Lok Sabha

“I would not be permitted to appear for my exams if I had as poor attendance record as you had in the Lok Sabha”. Captain was clean bowled by a googly fired by a student during his much-hyped ‘Coffee with Captain’ show.

A close confidante of Congress president, Sonia Gandhi, former CM and Member of Parliament from Amritsar, Captain Amarinder was made the deputy leader of Lok Sabha. Captain’s regular absence from Lok Sabha proceeding was cause of worry of Congress. Last year during monsoon session, Congress planned to stall parliament proceeding by taking on BJP led government and all MPs were instructed to refrain from absenteeism. Except Captain, all other MPs abide by instructions of party high command.

Captain Amarinder didn’t even bother to attend the crucial budget proceeding and cited his even more crucial role in Punjab as the reason for his absence. Popularly known as ‘Maharaja Sahib’, captain is known to work as per his whims & fancies and now he is focusing on Punjab assembly election scheduled for early next year.

An open war with party high command

Decided to hang his boots after the upcoming assembly polls, Captain is leaving no unturned to make lasting impression. He has been nurturing the dream of becoming the chief minister of state and had waged a war with party high command for a change in leadership in state.

Having a feud with the former Punjab Pradesh Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, Captain made sure that Bajwa was removed from the post. Captain had been looking for all opportunities to either gun him down or demand his removal from the post. It is noteworthy that Captain had led at least 35 of the 44 party MLAs to the party high command to press for Bajwa’s removal.

Captain might have succeeded in his mission but in that process he completely ignored his responsibilities as a parliamentarian.
