Bernie’s America Begins Today

Bernie just uttered that endorsement, that so many Bernie supporters vowed would never happen.

I am certain that in time, most Bernie supporters will follow Bernie’s advice to think about the future instead of the past. Hillary is the future and Bernie’s extraordinary campaign was a thing of the past.

Bernie got so many people involved in politics. A third of his supporters never voted before. That means a third of his enormous pool of supporters have accepted democratic ideals thanks to Bernie. They have already begun to embrace Hillary.

Then again, a third of his supporters were bitter Republicans, fed up with the gnarled views that the Republican party has taken on. Perhaps a few of these supporters may not vote for Hillary. But they wouldn’t have anyway. So it isn’t much of a loss.

Any Bernie supporter, who with a straight face, could say ‘I agree with everything Bernie says, except his endorsement for President’, is not playing with a full deck. It makes no sense, that someone would want Bernie for president, but they don’t agree with his endorsement for president. That decision, mind you, is the most important decision he made in his political career. What sort of person with as much political weight as Bernie Sanders would endorse someone to lead our country that he really didn’t like?

After witnessing what an immense following that Bernie commanded, Hillary had no choice but to embrace many of Bernie’s platforms.

This might be the end of Bernie’s campaign. But it is the beginning of Bernie’s America.
