The Break(fast)ing Bad Porridge

This porridge is a contradiction. It has good stuff in it and bad stuff. You begin with good intentions and then end things badly. One could say there’s a little bit more yin than yang.

You are making it with blueberries, so you can’t really feel that bad BUT it really isn’t that healthy because of the coloured sugar. Just convince yourself that you are doing the right thing though, because the blueberries contain healthy antioxidants. And continue eating it. And make it again and again.

It’s what Walter White would have done.

Apparatus:

½ cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen is fine).

Blue cake sprinkles

Oats

Plant milk

The ‘meth’od:

Follow the instructions for your oat base here. It’s important to get the right quantities for a pure result. Once the oats are bubbling away nicely, place your blueberries into the mix and stir. Don’t get any on your apron (or lab coat or whatever you’re wearing). The blue stuff stains. If you put the blueberries in the oats right near the end of the cooking process, they might actually retain some of their health benefits. You will feel better about cooking this knowing that information. Just looking out for your well-being!

Once this has cooked a few minutes more, you are ready to breakfast badly (i.e. add the sugar). Be careful to wait until the porridge has cooled slightly first or else the sugar will dissolve and your meal won’t look as good.

And you could lose EVERYTHING.

And you’ll need to add more sugar.

And you might start doing bad things…
