Stacks To Integrate Portal DeFi For Bitcoin To Layer 2 Atomic Swaps

Stacks announced integration with Portal DEX Network to enable the trust-minimized, bridgeless cross-chain exchange of sBTC across blockchains upon its launch. This integration reinforces Portal’s mission to enable fast, low-cost economic activity across chains without third-party intervention.

The media outlet also highlights the sBTC release, and its support in the Portal DEX Network will take place in the months following the Nakamoto rollout this year. sBTC is a 1:1 Bitcon-backed asset on the Stacks layer that enables smooth movement of BTC from the L1 to the L2 and back while remaining decentralized.

Portal CEO Dr. Chandra Duggirala said, “Portal will enable liquid markets for sBTC to BTC, ETH and other assets, channeling the billions of DeFi transactional value from these other EVM chains and funneling it safely & seamlessly into the Bitcoin ecosystem. This will inevitably help Bitcoin grow.”
