Faith-Based Nonprofit President Calls Upcoming Presidential Term ‘an Opportunity to Lead Others to Christ’
Global Christian Professional Women’s Association to Hold Prayer Call on Inauguration Day; Challenge Issued to Women to Pray for President-Elect Trump Daily during His First 100 Days in Office
The Global Christian Professional Women’s Association (GCPWA) (www.gcpwa.org) will hold a prayer call on Friday, Jan. 20, the day of the presidential inauguration, at 8:15 a.m. CT. Women from around the world are invited to join.
Members of the organization will pray for a successful transition of power as President-Elect Donald Trump takes office, and that he and other political leaders will have the mind of Christ and the wisdom of Solomon. Members will also pray that Christians from both sides of the political aisle will come together in support of the new president.
“The book of Corinthians says that we are the body of Christ, we each have a role to play, we are one and we must always be united,” said Dr. Grace M.A. Stephens, founder and president of GCPWA and a Chicago-based clergywoman. “Many Americans are facing rifts in their families, places of work and even churches. It’s critical that we pray that rifts are mended, bridges are built and wounds are healed.”
GCPWA’s mission is to encourage and empower Christian professional women to live their best life. The organization connects more than 10,000 women across the globe, providing guidance, resources and tools to help them be ambassadors for Christ in the workplace. The organization’s partners include major brands such as Wal-Mart, Verizon, United Airlines and Bank of America.
According to Dr. Stephens, Christian professional women are uniquely suited to bring the nation together, not on politics, but on the foundation of faith in God through worship, prayer and acts of love.
“As professional women, we have been blessed with so much,” said Dr. Stephens. “To whom much is given, much is required. The upcoming presidential term presents us with an opportunity to help facilitate conversations between those that have differing opinions, demonstrate and model compassion and leverage love to combat confusion and the enemy’s attempt to divide.”
“This is an opportunity in our nation’s history to both fortify our faith and help lead others to Christ by our example,” she continued.
In addition to holding a prayer call on Jan. 20, the members of GCPWA are also challenging women to pray daily for President-Elect Trump during his first 100 days in office. The organization will share prayer resources via social media.
