Introduction

Where would you hide the most powerful and precious thing you possess? You would probably want to keep it in a safe place where no harm could come to it. This “thing” that you have, can bring about tremendous pleasure or pain to anyone not initiated into the secrets of the soul. Life is a journey of the created one discovering the Creator. After all, it’s not the end of the journey which gives wisdom and power, but the journey itself.

Most people feel powerless when it comes to creating change in the world. As we look into the world around us, one can’t help but think, “is it even possible to make a difference?” When I ask myself this question, I hear thoughts scream out, “who are you to change the world?” Or thoughts such as, “just look out for yourself. You can’t change anything about it anyway.”

But, what if we could just make a change within ourselves? What if it only took a change within oneself to make a difference in the world? Would you start the journey?

Joseph Campbell, a mythological researcher, wrote a famous book entitled The Hero with a Thousand Faces. In his research, Campbell discovered many common patterns running through myths and stories of heroes from around the world. Campbell’s research lead him to discover several basic stages that almost every hero on conquest experiences. This is commonly known as the monomyth.

The Journey

What mythical land are you in? What is your quest? What part are you playing in the great story of the created one? Before you can answer these questions, you must accept the call. This blog series is designed as a journey itself. It will take you through the Creator’s journey to find the treasure, which rests at the end of this blog series. At what moment along this journey will you have the great revelation and accept the call? It’s different for everyone. This is the exciting part about reading the PowerSoul blog series.

Creator’s Journey Outline

With the same measure you give, it will be given back. This old saying exists to remind us that we get what we give. Commit to reading this blog series start to finish, for it will be measured back to you in greater ways than imaginable. The Creator’s Journey creates a space for the reader to take the trip within him or herself to find the treasure at the end of the series. The journey is compartmentalized into three major sections:

  • Departure – Departure from your ordinary world. What you believe to be true from the consciousness that was given to you as a child.
  • The Initiation – This is the section where the hero goes through a transformation. Through death, rebirth, challenges, and treasures from allies and enemies alike.
  • The Resurrection – Arising from the ash heaps of uncertainty into a life of richness.

They say that in order for you to get to your destination, you must know where you are coming from, and where you want to go. Of the three major sectors of the journey, where are you?

As you take a leap of faith and start the journey, keep track of the following highlights:

  1. What character role do you most identify with? The hero, the shadow, or some form of an ally.
  2. Who in your life is playing each role of the journey? The hero, Mentor, Shadow, Herald, Threshold Guardian, Shapeshifter, Trickster, Allies or the Temptress Mistress.
  3. What beliefs do you have to let go of to start the journey?
  4. What fears come up in certain situations?
  5. Where will you find what you need for the journey?
  6. For what purpose am i here?

The amazing thing about the Creator’s journey is that it reveals the hidden truth of who we really are, and what we are made of. While the Creator’s journey works with the a physical interpretation- the sun is the sun and the moon is the moon- it will serve a deeper purpose of illuminating the soul side of life. A quest does not have to include ancient folklore. It can just as well be applicable in the modern world. The journey, ageless and universal, exists anywhere and everywhere.

Throughout history stories have include many archetypes- images, patterns, and ideas from cultures across the world. Though this journey may include a plethora of symbolism, keep your awareness focused on bridging the gap between the outer realm and the inner realm of the soul.
