Now that Thanksgiving is over, it’s as good a time for us to not only pause and take stock of all that we are thankful for, but to also remember that we have the power to positively impact the lives of others. Today marks the sixth year of #GivingTuesday, a global social movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy, and kicks off the charitable season.

“The value of a man resides in what he gives and not in what he is capable of receiving.” — Albert Einstein

During this holiday season, consider making a donation through the Ohana Energy Gift Program. This program allows customers to thoughtfully and practically gift funds towards a designated recipient’s electric account with the option to send a special acknowledgement card and a personalized message. You can leave a lasting impression by helping your family member or friend pay an electricity bill, eliminating the worry of having to make another payment at the end of the year.

And if you’re in the spirit of giving and just want to give without designating an individual, the program allows you to leave the recipient information blank. Any funds received through this program that are not designated to a specific person will be used to help those in need this holiday season.

“No one has ever become poor by giving.” — Anne Frank
