This Year’s Model

Pramana’s First Executive In Residence Transitions to Pinterest

Pramana Collective

When we started The Pramana Collective, one of our formative philosophies was to build an organization that excites other communications and marketing professionals to join our team — no matter what job that they may be coming from. To fulfill this, of the new models we created (or co-opted) was the Executive in Residence role. My partner Sean Garrett explained ithere.

We were fortunate to have Mike Mayzel join us as our first EIR in February. Mike, a seasoned communications leader who recently ran communications for StumbleUpon, joined us and worked across multiple clients including launching a start-up and shaping media strategy for a San Francisco-based non-profit.

Mike also began working with Pinterest as a resource to lead the communications around the company’s latest advertising offerings. The timing worked out well for Pinterest and Mike was able to provide extra support at a moment with the team needed additional resources.

For The Pramana Collective, offering a proven professional with lots of experience working within dynamic, fast-paced organizations meant we could serve our client while presenting Mike with a compelling challenge. After two months, both Mike and Pinterest’s interests further aligned, and we are proud that Mike will be starting full time today to head up communications for the company’s partner program.

The Pramana Collective will continue the EIR program and hopefully give leading communications professionals a place to continue to hone their craft while providing additional in-house expertise to our clients. Please feel free to reach out to us and see if we can partner with you for the next step in your career.
