“Don’t politicise” — a useful tool for the cornered Sanghi
“Don’t politicise” — That’s one readymade slogan that Sanghis searching for answers learned from Times Now and Republic. The bhakt channels have been using this line for the past four years, whenever the Modi Government has been cornered over some issue. They used it when uncomfortable questions were raised after the forces shot down five farmers in Mandsaur, after people started questioning the Tughlaqian demonetisation and even when allegations were raised about the shady Rafale deal.
This “Don’t politicise” line has come in handy for the Kerala Sanghis, who are now left with nowhere to run, after their North Indian leaders backstabbed Kerala, by first giving a paltry amount as flood relief and then doing everything in their powers to block all the “no strings attached” aid from foreign countries.
Over the past week, Keralites irrespective of all their other differences came together to be a part of the rescue and relief efforts as the state faced an unprecedented flood situation. But, one group stood out amid all this. Their fellow sanghis from the North began the party by celebrating the deaths of “beefeaters” and “godless commies” in the floods. The local Sanghis joined them by claiming that all this happened due to some “disobedient” women trying to enter Sabarimala.
As thousands of people remained stranded, and their co-ordinates continued to be shared online, this particular group stepped up their online campaign further. Photoshopped images and photos of khakhishortwalahs standing in flood waters of Gujarat began to be shared as “swayamsevaks at rescue work in Kerala”. This, at a time when everyone was hailing the brave fishermen and the army and navy personnel.
When aid began flowing in from kind souls to the CM’s distress relief fund, they got their Malayali IT cell co-ordinator Suresh Kochattil to release a voice clip saying that those affected by the floods are all rich and that Kerala doesn’t need any money. He also tried to redirect the contributions towards the Sangh’s Sevabharathi, which doesnt come under RTI, unlike the CMDRF. The voice clip went viral and even major companies had a rethink on whether they should contribute to the fund. Suresh’s lies were repeated by Malayali Union Minister K.J. Alphons (Kannanthanam).
Then came the news about UAE offering us Rs.700 crores as donation (not as loan). This came as a huge blow to the sanghis and Modi, as it happened to be above the paltry sum that the Centre offered us. Now, attempts began to somehow stop that funding, by some clever twisting of words. Malayali Sanghis also began to puke the same messages sent out from the IT cell up north, in our timelines.
By this time, the rescue mission was almost over and a semblance of normalcy was getting restored, although lakhs continued to be in relief camps. It is at this point that the rest of the Malayalis, began to question the Sanghis here for all the backstabbing and hateful propaganda they have been indulging in. That’s when they began crying “Don’t politicise. This is the time for working unitedly.”
Imagine, after spewing all that venom and after multiple attempts to scuttle aid to our state, they are crying hoarse now, when people, fed up of their propaganda even at the time of a disaster, began questioning them. It indeed is politics and that’s what politics should be.
It is about time we set aside all the niceties and isolate these elements who have been working against the interests of the state. Be it in your friend circles or whatsapp groups or family, they need to be questioned, cornered and shamed, for their repulsive, hateful behaviour. We have been nice to them for much too long.
