FTII, Israel and more bad news
FTII talks fail
The talks that the representatives of the Film and Television Institute of India(FTII) students held today with the Modi Government have failed. As expected, the Government remained adamant on its stand that serial/porn actor/Hindutvawaadi/Modi fan Gajendra Chauhan would remain as the chairman of the FTII, despite the protest from the students, all the alumni and previous Chairpersons including Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Shyam Benegal, Saaed Akhthar Mirza and a host of other filmmakers and technicians.
Also, several students peacefully protesting in support of the FTII students’ strike, in front of Shastri Bhavan in Delhi were forcibly detained by the police.
The protests will continue….
India’s Israel shift
The United Nations Human Rights Council decided today adopted a resolution condemning Israel over the UN report into the Operation Protective Edge in Gaza.
41 countries vote in favor of the resolution, while one country — the U.S. — voted against.
India, in a significant shift in its position, abstained from voting, along with 4 other small countries. We are unmistakably moving closer to the rogue state and the gang of Israel fans in India are celebrating the abstention.
All that can be said of the country’s ugly shift is terrorists love terrorists.
