Instant Talaq verdict- Bhakths, Don’t steal the credit from SC

It was hardly ten days back that the Modi Government defended in the Supreme Court the exception to Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code which doesn’t penalise intercourse or sexual act by a man with his wife not below 15 years for rape. The Govt justified that the exception in the law was meant to protect the ‘institution of marriage’. Effectively, the Government was defending the rape of minor girls, in the name of “tradition”.

So, it’s quite funny to hear saffron buffoons like Bhupendra Chaubey and Union ministers praising the same Modi and his Government for the Supreme Court’s laudable decision against instant talaq, just because he used the issue for communal polarisation in a few elections. Spare some credit for the three judges atleast. Wish this great “saviour of Muslim women” also fought to bring justice to the likes of Kauser Bi, Bilqis Bano, the wives of Pehlu Khan, Akhlaq and those thousands who were murdered in Gujarat. Also perhaps, spare some sympathy for a certain Jashodaben and another young woman, who was a victim of stalking by “safedh dhaadi” and “Kaala dhaadi”

It’s most certainly not a problem of memory for those who are trying to award all the credits to this man.
