Thoughts on Accelerated Learning

When I was young, we went to school to listen to our teachers lecture us for 40 minutes at a time while we tried our best to sit still and absorb it all. Cable television hadn’t arrived yet (I don’t want to date myself here:) and entertainment still comprised reading, writing and talking to friends. Smart phones didn’t exist and there were no personal computers where I grew up. The lecture format was the only way to learn. How else would teachers teach?
