AFL Round 11 Tips & Preview
North Melbourne Kangaroos v Richmond Tigers — Blundstone Arena — Friday 7:50pm AEST
The Kangaroos dropped to their first loss in a far from embarassing effort to the Swans, while Richmond claimed their third straight win although two of these were against cellar dwellers Fremantle & Essendon. Kangaroos by 19
Hawthorn Hawks v Melbourne Demons — MCG — Saturday 1:45pm AEST
The Hawks have been a bit hit and miss so far this season but looked to find their rhythm last week. The Demons on the other hand lost the first of their home games for 2016 in the Northern Territory convincingly. Hawks by 36
Carlton Blues v Brisbane Lions — Etihad Stadium — Saturday 2:10pm AEST
Barring their slip up to ladder leaders North Melbourne a fortnight ago Carlton are close to the form side of the competition, sitting just 4 points out of the top 8 and having won 4 of their last 5. The Lions are at the other end of the spectrum with only the Suns and Bombers having worse form over the last 6 weeks. Blues by 28
Geelong Cats v GWS Giants — Simonds Stadium — Saturday 4:35pm AEST
The stats tell the story here both sides have had a good run of form during the season and also had their couple of window off week, almost all the key stats are inseparable here and its almost a toss of the coin job. However GWS have the wood in front of goal. Giants by 5
Gold Coast Suns v Sydney Swans — Metricon Stadium — Saturday 7:25pm AEST
The Suns are playing some of the worst football in the AFL currently and are coming off a hiding in the West, while the Swans knocked off the ladder leading Kangaroos last week. Swans by 56
Fremantle Dockers v Essendon Bombers — Domain Stadium — Saturday 7:40pm AEST
The two sides who are battling the most this season come head to head in a chance for the Docker’s first and the Bomber’s second win. Both sides are down on troops and it could come down to whose second tier players step up the best. Dockers by 28
Collingwood Magpies v Port Adelaide Power — MCG — Sunday 1:10pm AEST
Both sides have showed promise in windows and if they can string together enough of a period of form will be firmly knocking on the door of the top 8 come August & September. Home ground should be a decisive factor here even with the Magpies injuries. Magpies by 13
Western Bulldogs v West Coast Eagles — Etihad Stadium — Sunday 3:20pm AEST
The Bulldogs are still missing a few troops but it is nothing compared to the woes the Eagles have had thus far on the road when travelling to the East Coast. Etihad stadium suits the Bulldogs like no other ground suits any other side. Bulldogs by 14
Adelaide Crows v St Kilda Saints — Adelaide Oval — Sunday 4:40pm AEST
The Crows are a good side away from Adelaide oval as they have proved recently but are much more difficult to roll at home as they seem to grow an extra leg, while the Saints have battled many sides for two and three quarters they just seem to fall at the final hurdle against the top sides. Crows by 29
