Big Bash League Batsman Rankings December 27th
- Usman Khawaja (Sydney Thunder)— Has peeled off the only century to date in the Big Bash and looked superb in doing so unfortunately the Sydney Thunder may not see him again if he is selected in the Australian One Day side alongside his test commitments.
- Alex Ross (Adelaide Strikers) — Has chimed in solidly in both of the Strikers matches so far with a 38 & 65 at strike rates of 130 & 209 respectively. A very dangerous batsman when he gets going.
- Kevin Pietersen (Melbourne Stars) — Chimed in with a low score to contribute in the Stars first match, and was the main reason the Stars were in the hunt in their narrow loss to the Thunder. Has shown he still has the power to hit with the best and can be one of the most destructive batsmen in the BBL.
- George Bailey (Hobart Hurricanes) — Has tallied over 100 runs in his two knocks so far at an average strike rate of over 150. Played a lone hand to tally more than half of the Hurricanes runs in their low total of 91 in the first match and backed it up with a 40 at almost two runs a ball in their win second up.
- Tom Beaton (Melbourne Renegades) — Peeled off a quickfire 41 at a strike rate of over 175 in his one at bat so far, shows some real promise and will be a good contributor in a star studded batting line up.
- Michael Hussey (Sydney Thunder) — Mr Cricket has been as impressive as ever and continues to compile runs at an impressive clip as well as leading a much improved Thunder lineup.
- Adam Voges (Perth Scorchers) — Has carried on his strong test form into the shortest form of the domestic game. A quick fire 45 in his only appearance thus far sees him earn his place here, unfortunately for the Scorchers he will be in the same boat as Khawaja and will only have limited involvement for them from here at best.
- Shaun Marsh (Perth Scorchers) — Another player who has carried his strong test form back to the big bash, fortunately for the Scorchers he has missed selection for the Boxing Day test meaning he is available to play on for the immediate future.
- Tim Paine (Hobart Hurricanes) — Was disappointing in his first knock against the Sixers, but earnt redemption against the Heat with 87 from 58 balls.
- Marcus Harris (Perth Scorchers) — Did a great job of starting off the run chase yesterday in his first at bat for the Scorchers, laying the platform for Michael Klinger and Ashton Agar to bring it home.
