A Book On A Shelf
A book waved to me from the shelf
Let’s go on an adventure, it seemed to say
We’ll hijack a hot air balloon and go where the wind blows us.
Over the Seas, high above the pirates
Into the mountains with dragons and down into the dells with the dwarves
We can camp out under the stars and see what strange creatures visit our fire
“Not today, book” I had to say. “It is my lunch hour and I must return to work”
But all afternoon I carried that adventure in my heart.
And my boss accused me of daydreaming.
