Second, Seawolf SSNs haven’t been built for a decade and only 2 were ever built (the Jimmy Carter might as well be its own class, it’s so different from the other 2). Now, 2 new Virginia class SSNs start construction each year and that projects to be the case for many years to come.

Third, the Arleigh Burke and Ticos are able to defend against the almost mythical Russian AShM. Missiles that the Russians would struggle to provide targeting info for, in any event. Same story for the Chinese ASBMs, assuming US aircraft or cruise missiles don’t destroy them before they manage to launch.
