State Sen. Rob Hogg (D-Cedar Rapids) couldn’t be more out of touch. Yesterday, he took to the Iowa State Senate floor to call Iowa taxpayers “entitled” and suggest they’re shedding “crocodile tears” over a looming tax hike that would cost some over $60,000 in new taxes!

The Iowa House of Representatives passed a bill 82–14 to stop the looming tax hike in Iowa. Gov. Terry Branstad supports the measure and even acted to extend the tax deadline as Iowa Senate Democrats continue to drag their feet.

A grain farmer from Nora Springs, Iowa, stated that a failure to act by Iowa Senate Democrats means her family will pay an extra $62,000 in taxes. A small business owner stated that her tax bill will go up $16,000 if Iowa Senate Democrats don’t get to work.

A teacher from Bondurant, Iowa, told Hogg’s hometown newspaper, the Cedar Rapids Gazette, that Iowa Senate Democrats are only hurting Iowa students by failing to pass this bill.

TELL SEN. ROB HOGG THAT WE DESERVE A SENATOR WHO WORKS FOR THE TAXPAYERS RATHER THAN ATTACK THEM ON THE IOWA SENATE FLOOR!
