Prism has been “linking” balances to your payment accounts for a while, since it was a wee little app called Mobilligy.

Why?

$937 available (last synced 3 minutes ago)

Why should you care?

Because linking lets you see the balance of your account that you’re paying bills with, so that you can be certain to avoid those overdraft charges!

At a glance, you know that you have enough money, and all you need to do is pull down to pay.

How?

Elite Checking

How do we do this? It’s pretty simple, really. When you add a new bank, or credit or prepaid card company under “Your Billers”, we are able to fetch your balances.

These balances show up under the “Money” screen on the home screen.

Once you also add a new payment account (under “Your Payment Accounts”), we can usually match up the payment account with the balance we found earlier. We automatically “link” the account and the balance without any extra action on your part, so that you get the benefits of seeing your balance everywhere you use or look at your account.

That’s Great!

Excellent!

Unfortunately we discovered that life isn’t always so easy, especially when it comes to credit unions. Credit unions tend to use the same account number (your “member number”) with liberal usage of suffices to distinguish between your checking, savings, and other bank accounts. The problem is that the combination of your member number and the suffix may not actually correspond to the actual payment account number in real life! This makes linking balances to the right payment account pretty hard to do automatically.

But who better to tell us how they should be linked than you?

So we’ve added the ability for you to do your own linking between balances and payment accounts for these specific types of balances.

Choose the account balance.

Once you link the balance to the right payment account, you’ll be able to see your balance when paying your bills from that payment account.
