So, what is Munja? Munja is a ghost, a bachelor ghost. Someone who dies in the youth. So the question would arise in the reader’s mind what’s peculiar in this? Everyone fears ghosts, right? They are scary, ruthless, and kill with impunity but the Munja is a harmless fellow. Our Munja is not at all same as Jason from Friday the 13th. Basically, Munja sits on the Peepal tree at the boundary of the village and watches everything coming in and out. A point to mention is that Gautam Buddha attained enlightenment under the Peepal tree. Youth shows dreams and gives the energy to attain them too, it’s a celebration of its own kind. It’s the age when there is more focus on creating something meaningful rather than destroying something beautiful, isn’t it the age when we fall in love? Today we are watching conflicts, and wars on a daily basis, these old army generals, and politicians craving blood and personal glory push unimaginable young souls into the darkness. They are thrown on the path of hate instead of love. But can Munja hate? Nope, Munja will only love. Munja can’t raise a family, and Munja can’t take part in the celebration of love but still, Munja will sit there on the Peepal tree and guard the flowers of youth and help them blossom.
