The icing on the cake surrounding the Dallas tragedy for me is that it escalated from gun standoff to a drone execution.

That’s an evolution of crime, terror, war and hate that I’m not looking forward to. While there are a lot of people trying to stuff the cat back into the bag on the gun front, I fear that the drone universe has near-zero probability of any kind of reasonable controls or regulations.

At least with a gun, the killer (generally) has had to put themselves in harms way. Drones change the risk profile dramatically, opening a real box of worms.

Thanks Wil for publicly expressing your frustration, and those chiming in offering additional thoughts, facts and perspectives to the debate. I would really like to see the NRA publishing something on Medium expressing their point of view as an organization.

Depressing perhaps, but at this point I’d be thrilled to see our flags at the tops of their poles for just one week sometime soon.
