Why Facebook Messenger could be the one to rule them all
Kyle Nichols

I’m not sure I agree that there will be any one ‘messenger’ service and use email as an example. There is no single email service and with the advent of webkit messenger, video, etc. will become a product that can be delivered across any platform. You’ll be able to Skype to FaceTime and WhatsApp to AIM. All of these platforms will have their appeal to the user or set of users that like them. I am one of those people that refused to get messenger. I also deleted Pages after a month of use as the workflow was horrendous.

I can’t say I understand their reasoning for launching a separate service. If i’m in your platform, why make me leave to go to another one of your platforms? It should be (and was) seamless!

Thanks for spurring the brain.
