Hi John,
After nearly 3 decades in business, I’ve learned a few things. One of those things is that when a potential customer isn’t happy with my product or service and just walks away, we both lose. I much prefer that the potential client tell me where they think I went wrong, so long as it’s constructive and polite (my apologies if it didn’t come across this way). If I still disagree, no problem, and thanks for the feedback. But often that criticism help me grow and profit.
As to options, I disagree and think you do have a better option. The podcast is nearly 50 minutes if I remember correctly and there’s likely some excellent highlights in there. Couldn’t you a have written a short article on some highlight and then invited your reader to come listen to the full podcast if they like what you read? I would bet you’d end up with more subscribers.
One other lesson I’ve learned both in business and in life; if someone criticizes me, I generally try to wait a bit before I respond. Otherwise I tend to respond emotionally as my ego bruises easily.
Anyway, like I said, just trying to provide constructive feedback. No harm intended.
Thanks again,
Archie
