“…a venue for events located in the center of the center of the world”.
Founded in 2014 by Debora Balardini and Sandie Luna, PUNTO, designed by world renowned designer and architect, Stephen Burks, is an event performance space and the newest addition to New York’s Fashion District in Midtown, Manhattan. “PUNTO is not only a performance space but rather a unique venue where interesting private events and art happenings are curated alongside each other. It is a venue for events that deserve to be located in the center of the center of the world” say Debora and Sandie.
What began as a working relationship while putting together the Brazilian-USA Film Festival in New York City 11 years ago, resulted in their common urge to create a remarkable and cutting edge space where people can collaborate on different levels surrounded by all forms of art. With a combined 50 years of experience and notable performances in works such as Platanos and Collard Greens, Apple of my Eye, A Haunting in Connecticut, Latina’s Don’t PMS, First of the Month and more, Debora and Sandie wish to continue enriching Midtown’s abundant history in performing arts and private events.
Debora and Sandie’s work has been featured in national and international publications such as The New York Times, The New York Amsterdam News, Folha de São Paulo, Gazeta do Povo, The New York Daily News, Miami NewTimes, Globo International (NY), Rede TV, Record TV, The Positive Community Magazine, WWRL1600 Radio, TeenNewsNet, The Courier Times and La Diva Latina Magazine.
Whether putting together a flawlessly executed performing arts performance or running a fabulous event, Debora and Sandie have a continued discerning aesthetic and desire to create opportunities for themselves and others and PUNTO is just the beginning.
