Announcing PyData Paris 2024:
Uniting Minds in Open-Source Data Science and AI
We are thrilled to announce the upcoming PyData Paris 2024, the gathering of the open-source data science and AI/ML community in France.
PyData Paris will take place at the Cité des Sciences from September 25 to September 26, 2024. Hosted by QuantStack and NumFOCUS, this event promises to bring together open-source maintainers and enthusiasts, as well as experts from across the globe, all united by their passion for open-source technologies.
PyData Paris 2024 is a celebration of the thriving Parisian open-source scientific computing and AI/ML community, showcasing the blossoming ecosystem that includes key players such as Hugging Face and Mistral AI, open-source projects like scikit-learn and Jupyter, as well as open-source software corporations like QuantStack and :probabl.
Our conference is honored to feature an impressive lineup of keynote speakers who will share their invaluable insights:
Arthur Mensch
Arthur Mensch is the co-founder and CEO of Mistral AI, a fast-growing company that develops open generative AI technology for developers and enterprises.
Arthur Mensch was previously an AI researcher at DeepMind, which he joined following a thesis at Inria and a postdoc in mathematics at ENS.
Katharine Jarmul
Katharine Jarmul is a privacy activist and an internationally recognized data scientist and lecturer who focuses her work and research on privacy and security in data science workflows. She is the author of Practical Data Privacy (O’Reilly 2023) and has worked in the field of privacy and machine learning for the past 7 years.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Katharine is the co-founder of the PyLadies global movement, which aims to promote and empower women in the Python and data science communities.
Olivier Grisel
Olivier Grisel is a machine learning engineer at :probabl. and a core developer of the scikit-learn library. Olivier likes: crafting synthetic datasets to check mathematical properties of statistical estimators and get insights on their failure modes, trying to find simple words to explain subtle concepts when teaching ML and deep learning, profiling code to understand the root cause of a performance problem, and improving automation tools to smooth collaboration between Open Source contributors. Olivier graduated from Imperial College London and ENSTA ParisTech.
Merve Noyan
Merve Noyan, is a machine learning advocate engineer at Hugging Face and a computer vision researcher. Merve works on making machine learning more accessible to everyone by building and documenting cutting-edge machine learning.
