More than 70 Coca-Cola company franchisees worldwide can now use SAP’s blockchain-based solution for supply chain management.

As Business Insider notes, the managed network created by SAP provides not only cryptographic protection of data, but also protection against unauthorized access to them. Coke One North America-a firm that unites 12 suppliers with hundreds of thousands of orders, believes that SAP’s blockchain solution can reduce the time for coordination and organization of orders.

“There are a number of transactions between companies and multiple parties that are inefficient. They pass through intermediaries and are implemented very slowly. We felt we could change that and save some money, “ said CONA senior Manager Andrei Semenov.

The blockchain solution for the supply chain includes order tracking, registration and information about the origin of goods. The partnership between Coca-Cola and SAP has entered the testing stage, when all organizations begin to keep records of deliveries in the form of transactions in a managed blockchain.

However, in the future, the program may develop into partnerships with supermarkets such as Target and Walmart, Semenov hopes. Partnership with Walmart is very likely, as last year the company obliged suppliers to implement a blockchain system for tracking products
