Meet Arjun Kumar: Co-Founder of Taxd, an online tax filing service that facilitates the efficient completion of UK personal and company tax returns.
Recognized by HMRC, Taxd offers a digital interface that simplifies the process through AI, integrations and real-time support. The Personal Tax deadline, 31st January 2024 is just around the corner!
As Co-Founder of Taxd, Arjun’s focus is primarily on marketing and growth and showcasing Taxd to more B2C clients and B2B partners. However, like many early-stage start-ups, the day varies across product, customer support and data.
🌱 What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned on your startup journey?
It’s a marathon, don’t burn out early on. Have a sustainable pattern of work, life, and health. It’s easy to work 24/7 and burnout, but finding a balance with health makes it easier to go after it every day. There will inevitably be Ls along the way!
🚀 What advice would you give to other entrepreneurs who are just starting out?
Take the risk, get fully stuck in and be fully comfortable with being uncomfortable. Also, validate the problem you are solving beforehand and gain experience in that field/industry. Learning the ins and outs of how it works, what people pay for, understanding why people need support, etc will help build your value.
💌 What is your favourite part about being a startup founder?
Speaking to clients or reading our reviews gives an insight into how tax can make someone’s day. (Never thought I’d say that!) It really drives home our purpose when you see and hear how what you are building genuinely supports individuals and businesses, especially during stressful times.
🏆 How do you view success?
Making a difference to other people in the world and driving towards a purpose, both personally and professionally.
🎧 If your business had a theme song, what would it be and why?
I Want Your Soul — Armand Van Helden. We’re quite a buzzy energetic team and I think that comes through in our service too!
