Every kid has a story to tell.

So when President Obama recently announced his efforts to expand CS to all students, especially those from underrepresented communities, we were thrilled to know that Qeyno has been at the forefront of closing the gap of introducing young people to code. We are proud to be a member of the “Computer Science for All” community.

The work we do in preparing high potential youth in low opportunity settings to tell their story through code and design bridges two of President Obama’s youth-focused initiatives: “Computer Science For All” with “My Brother’s Keeper” with our My Brother’s Keeper Hackathon.

But we aren’t alone in this movement….

Introducing Tech EQuity Week —

To support TEQWeek, visit teqweek.com

Powered by Qeyno Labs in partnership with the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the TechEquity Collaborative and the Alliance for Community Development, Tech EQuity Week (@TEQWEEK) aims to develop opportunities for engagement between social impact organizations and tech companies with the local community to deepen and advance a more equitable tech ecosystem. @TEQWEEK will be accessible to everyone and anyone with an interest in the future of tech company diversity, digital technology inclusion, gender parity, and STEAM education access.

USA Today made the announcement to the world that a week of activities and programs are being convened by an incredible group of social impact organizations and tech companies who want to do more than “talk the talk” but to pave the way for a more equitable ecosystem for tech companies and startups, and to make Science, Technology, Engineering, Art Design, and Mathematics accessible to more young people in Oakland and the East Bay.

USA Today — January 21, 2016 — Money section 5B

Tech EQuity Week will feature events focused on tech company diversity, inclusion, and parity, and our My Brother’s Keeper Hackathon (#MBKHack) is proud to serve as a cornerstone for this historic extended week with our Trailblazers (youth) working alongside adult professionals as their mentors.
