A DDO requires long term thinking that is not very prevalent in the modern business environment. Recently, I have read many stories of companies being forced to make changes, by “activist investors”(pronounced short term profit seekers)who jump in under the guise of making an impact, but flee in the dead of night after the stock price pops. Then there are the journeyman CEO’s travelling from company to company, negotiating their exit packages before stepping through the door. The incredibly short term mindset of the modern business, unfortunately, stands in the way of any true development.
