My name is David Johnson Jr. but I go by (DJ) and also iamdjjohnson. I am 22 years old and was born/raised in the beautiful city of San Antonio, Texas!
What do you do for a living?
“I am currently a full-time student athlete. I play basketball while also networking via online to hustle some money by connecting with different entrepreneurs just like myself. When I am not networking, I train with my private basketball trainer to perfect my skills. I also travel often and go on numerous vacation trips with my girlfriend, family and friends.”
Who are some of your biggest influences in your industry?
“My biggest influencers in the basketball industry are, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawaii Leonard, James Harden, Russell Rosebrook, and Paul George. I look up to these specific basketball players because they remind me of myself of how I play basketball and want to be as good as them one day.”
What would you consider your biggest accomplishment thus far in your career?
“My biggest accomplishment in my career is that I turned my dream into a reality. I have been playing basketball since I was in elementary all the way through high school till now. I made a breaking career. point record at James Madison high school where I attended in San Antonio, Texas and then I went on to college to continue my basketball career at Saint Philip’s College from 2016–2017, then transferred to Victoria college from 2017–2018, while I was at Victoria College I was awarded the Male Athlete Academic Award for having the highest GPA in the men’s basketball program. After my first year at Victoria College, I received an offer from Mount Mercy University to play basketball at there school from 2018–2020. Now I am looking forward to finish my college basketball career at a different university for my senior season.”
What legacy would you like to leave behind for yourself?
“The legacy I want to leave behind would be that everyone remember my name and how hard I worked to make my dream a reality. I want others to feel inspired by my story and my journey, to encourage them to never give up and follow your dreams, no matter how big or how small.”
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
“In 5 years I see myself happily married to my gorgeous stunning girlfriend Natasha Popovich and living well off. We also plan on having two kids that will be twins and travel the world together as a family. I also see myself continuing my basketball career as a pro player or as a full time head college basketball coach. As long as I have my faith in the Lord, I know he will bless me down the right path, so only God knows where I will end up in the next 5 years. I follow in the Lord always.”
