I think the idea of machines evolving is the whole premise of AI, so how well we control that evolution will be interesting to see. But yes, they will most likely be an extension of our own drives, even on a subconscious level. Subconsciously, we’re asking all our possessions to work for us — my way or the highway, and computers will be no exception.
