Quidizen Spotlight: HB Boosalis on explicit networks and why she eats chips with chopsticks

Meet Quidizen HB Boosalis, Applied Data Scientist on #teamdatascience
Tell us a fun fact about you.
Chopsticks are my preferred utensil of choice — even when eating things like pasta, chips, and pizza. I should mention that I don’t like getting my hands greased up (lotion being the exception).
What is the coolest project you’ve worked on since joining the data science team at Quid?
Since joining Quid several months back, I have been working on the explicit network generator, an aspect of Quid that multiple client projects have called for. This was a great way to familiarize myself with Quid’s architecture and tweak the code for specific needs, as well as to collaborate with some extremely bright minds on the client services side of the company. Currently, we are working on getting the explicit network generator into production, a goal I am excited for us to accomplish.
What do you like most about being a Quidizen?
Hands down: the people. What a diverse, kind-hearted group of individuals we have. I love barraging a fellow Quidizen with questions on his/her personal background, and thankfully no one has expressed much annoyance about it. The intelligence, wisdom, and passion that each Quidizen possesses rub off on everyone else; the collective effort is palpable when manifested by way of Quid’s exceptional product and projects. I get to learn something new every day from these brilliant, helpful folks, and I try not to take that for granted.
