“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” — God, Jeremiah 33:3

Whether or not you believe in God, the psychological benefits of feeling connected to some kind of a higher power are undeniable. This verse from the book of Jeremiah reminds us of the hidden potential in all of our lives when we harness the power of connection to something greater than ourselves. If we ask “God” to guide us along life’s journey, He will show us a way forward that we could not have previously imagined.

Such was the plight of the Jews that were forced out of Jerusalem and into exile in Babylon at the time in history when this Scripture was written by Prophet Jeremiah. The Jewish people in exile needed reassurance and hope for the future as they lived in a foreign land. God’s message to the Jews who had gone astray from God’s ways was to turn back towards God so they could have their livelihood’s back again. So too, if we connect to God in our lives, our life can take on a new and unprecedented form.
