MUSIC REVIEW: Olamide — Summer Body ft. Davido (Prod. by Pheelz)

Two months ago, Olamide and Davido came together on Wale’s fifth studio album, Shine, and gave us the standout banger that was “Fine Girl” — and Davido completely stole the show.
It didnt take long for the duo to hook us up with another song for the summer and Davido somehow manages to pull off the same feat on Olamide’s new single, “Summer Body”.
Produced by Pheelz, the track, which could easily be classified as the biggest collaboration of the year, is a bit of a letdown. Olamide who did just enough to flow in his usual effortless way seemed to have missed the magic he typically brings to all his tracks.
And while Davido’s verse seemed to have absolutely nothing to do with the song’s ‘summer body loading’ theme, it still manages to standout thanks to his always-energetic delivery and the shots he subtly fires at Wizkid (yes, we noticed it).
The music video, which was shot by Atlanta director, Joey Yung Spike, is even more easily forgettable than the track — but when a song is about summer bodies, it’s almost difficult to fault the director for simply throwing bikini-clad women in there.
