Sorry Elvis, no ANSWER to
“Are you lonesome tonight?”
I’m at the moment answering our probsets and at the same time listening to an online FM radio. They’ve played “Are you lonesome tonight?” by Elvis Presley and I just had a thought.
I think the song will never be answered — or if it was, then for sure it’s on VERY RARE occasions.
It’s in our core to not open up about things related to our emotions and I wonder why though? Even if I myself do it, I still ask why? I don’t have any answers either. Why do we keep those feelings bottled up?
Is it because we see it as a weakness when we start talking what we call ‘matters of the heart’? And here lies the problem because ‘matters of the heart’ usually pertains to relationships — any kind. I think the fact that we don’t open-up means we’re not being truthful. I also think that in every relationship being honest is one of its most important factors.
So next time you encounter questions like: Are you lonesome tonight? Please, please be honest and see what difference it will make!
