How I lost 4 pounds in 2 minutes.

I figured this title would draw you in.

We all understand that bodyweight can fluctuate correct?

Well if you don’t you should, because it does.

My bodyweight has sometimes fluctuated by upwards of 7 pounds in one day.

Try it, weigh yourself first thing in the morning on an empty stomach after going to the bathroom. When you are going to sleep, weigh yourself , heck even weigh yourself after breakfast and notice how you gained weight.

You see during the day, we eat , and if you are like me or anyone else who likes food, you can eat a lot of food. So you have food being digested, you have more fluid on board, you have extra glycogen from food, excrement waiting to pass, and the list can go on.

And that right there ^ is how I was able to lose 4 pounds in just a few minutes. You want to lose weight for a holiday, or a wedding? Go to the bathroom.

I know it’s gross, but it’s true. If you focus on the scales losing weight is as simple as either going to the bathroom, or abstaining from food, so that your bodyweight doesn’t fluctuate, have stored glycogen, food digesting and extra water.

The take home from this is simple.

When weight loss is your focus, think long term, do not just rely on the scales, as they will mislead you and send you into a sense of panic if you haven’t lost a single pound. We all do it, heck even I right now while trying to drop 15 pounds by June, I look at the scale and wonder.

But, it is okay. I also track measurements, I track via shameless selfies, and how I feel on the whole.

Don’t just rely on the scales to lose weight, because as I’ve said bodyweight fluctuates.
