A graphic designer is a person who works with graphic designs and graphic arts in a software industry or a regular one. He has the job of congregating images, motion pictures or typographies to create a design. He or she basically creates graphics for print, electronic media or publishing the likes of flyers and advertisements.

When a graphic designer starts training to be a successful and a learned designer he or she begins his or her career as a freelancer, he or she starts with taking up jobs of designing graphics that require less working hours and are flexible too. He chooses projects independently according to his likes and dislikes for which he is paid a satisfactory wage.

While following a Typical Career Path Of Graphic Designers we see that when a graphic designer thinks he or she has gathered enough experience to take up a full time job as a graphic designer then he or she joins an agency or a company that enables him or her to excel professionally. Initially he or she is appointed as a junior graphic designer where he or she is basically given the work that other designers disagree to do, like designing layouts, logos or redrawing logos repeatedly, and correcting colors etc. A graphic designer is usually headed by senior designers, who are a great guide to the graphic designers. A junior designer has a fairly low pay at this stage of his or her career but he or she gets to brush up his or her portfolio.

Then comes the stage where he or she is appointed as a graphic designer as a whole, at this stage he gets to do a full-fledged job of a graphic designer independently. He or she gets an overview of the job profile where he or she gets to communicate with the clients. Here the designer has a fair amount of freedom creatively because he gets a lot of variety in projects. He is paid more than a junior graphic designer, so a graphic designer cannot expect to get paid like a senior graphic designer.

When the graphic designer works efficiently he or she has the possibility of getting appointed as a senior graphic designer within the time span of 7 years of his or her career. In this stage the senior graphic designer has a lot of responsibilities at hand, he supervises the work of junior graphic designers, and he or she is the one who communicates directly with the clients and set meetings and decides the agenda of the project with the clients. The senior graphic designer performs fair amount of freedom and he is paid a reasonably good amount for salary.
