Do you want to be more productive, improve your physical health diet and spend more time with your loved ones? Improvement starts with “I”.

The First step in bettering yourself is to look in the mirror and honestly evaluate. While self-analysis is difficult it is essential in helping you achieve your goals.

Often we think we are maximizing each day, that we are eating a healthy diet and really getting after it in the gym however the football coach in me will tell you, “The film doesn’t lie.” This means when one is forced to look at how we spend our time and what we consume we are then able to eliminate distractions that are keeping us from becoming who we want to be. If you want to make changes in your life start by keeping a time and/or Food and Exercise log.

Before you can lose weight you need to be truly aware of how many calories you are taking in and burning each day. A pound of fat=3500 calories. In theory you should lose one pound and keep it off by eliminating 250 calories from your normal diet and burning off an additional 250 calories with exercise.

Have you ever caught your self saying, “I don’t have time for that”? By logging our daily activities, we are then able to get an honest assessment of how we spend our time. The next step is to rank and prioritize our daily schedule to eliminate things that are getting in the way of who we want to be.

What’s holding you back from being the best version of you? Remember we are in our current circumstance because of the decisions we make on a daily basis. We cannot continue to do the same things and expect different results. Please contact me at rln10@zips.uakron.edu to share your journey or learn more about the LEAD Philosophy.
