“We all have watches but no one has the time.” –Elizabeth Lindsay

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite days of the Year. I eat delicious food, watch football and eventually fall into a food coma while watching my first Christmas movie of the season (usually National Lampoons Christmas Vacation).

Thanksgiving paints a different story for my mother. Not only does she cook a feast for the entire family but leading up to the special day works a full time job, buys all of the groceries, cleans the house, coordinates everyone’s travel plans, just to name a few.

As much as I love my mothers cooking the thing I love most about Thanksgiving is getting to spend time with her and the rest of my family. This week, in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving. At the end of your life it wont be important what you have to eat on Thursday, who won the game or if you got to watch the entire parade. Whether you are preparing the meal or enjoying it, make an effort to spend time together.
