A Little Sleep, A Little Slumber

“A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭24:33–34‬ ‭ESV‬‬

In physics there is a law that says it is easier to keep an object in motion than to start or stop it. The same is true for us spiritually. If you are on the straight and narrow it is easier to keep that momentum going that to start and stop.

The small acts of fellowshipping with the Lord through praying, reading, journaling, and fellowshipping with other Christians are actually essentials that keep this “ball” in motion. Neglecting the tasks the Lord has placed in front of you today actually lead to more work and struggle tomorrow. So may we stay encouraged and encouraging one another to be diligent to our Lord drawing near to communicate with Him daily, and, as a result, growing deeper in relationship with Him.

Father, help us to stay on the straight and narrow. This race is not to the swift nor to the strong but to those who endure. May we be men and women who endure through everything relying on You and supping with You daily. We love You, Lord. Amen.
