The Number 1 Fundamental to Replace Bad Habits

The conscious mind thinks it’s in charge but it merely the Press Office for the unconscious mind which operates as the Government. Over 80% of the functioning of the mind is in the unconscious not the conscious mind. The silent killer in life is the lack of recognition of utilising the unconscious ability that comes from creating positive rewarding habits over those which serve little to no purpose in life.
The Importance in correcting any habit is to identify that which is currently being done which doesn’t serve you and the new habit which you wish to replace it with. Not only that, but as humans are habitual creatures, they tend to fall back that which they know over the unknown. There are countless people in the world living below their true potential. Living smaller lives than they may be capable of living due to the simple reason that they have been habituated to live that very life. The power of the unconscious mind is that it is invisible to the conscious mind. When we realise how to tap into the potential of the unconscious mind via the conscious mind then our lives can begin to change.
There are 4 distinct levels of habit in our everyday lives and they are:
1 Want
2 Choose
3 Commit
4 Act
1 When we want a new good habit we are merely dreaming of a better life. Nothing changes and it only comes into our awareness every now and again as a hopeful yearning.
2 When we choose a new habit for our life we are aware of how our lives are and how we would like them to be. Everything we see seems to remind us of the change we want to make yet little changes apart from the conscious awareness of where we live our lives and how it differs from how we want to live our lives.
3 When we commit, we set out times in our diary to do the necessary things. We buy books to read, earmark events to attend, make plans with friends to hold us accountable. We are very close to making steps to our habit creation but this little thing called life happens. Plans get put-off, that book pile doesn’t diminish and we are left feeling that change might just never happen!
4 When we act on the habit we wish to create then magic occurs! Just by taking action, however small, on a regular time-frame, we create new neuro-pathways in our brain that fire together. If we repeat this habit then that neuro-pathway becomes stronger and more defined.
‘Neurons that fire together, wire together.’ For this reason it’s far greater to do little often and frequent then one big committing session! Action is the key to habit-formation and consistency of habit is the builder to a new set of routines and a new life!
