Who will you RUN into next?
Meet, Lou D’Angelo, VP Ad Operations.
If there’s one person who can hold a conversation about anything, now I mean anything, it’s Lou! Whether it’s number 2 pencils or how RUN is thinking about Header Bidding, Lou’s dynamic mind is one-of-a-kind! Try not to be fooled by his laid back, easy going demeanor but when it comes down to it, Lou means business; His go-getter attitude is infectious!
Why did you choose to come to RUN?
Professionally, this was the next logical step in my career. I had spent almost 4 years building an Ops team starting at 3 employees to 30+ by the time I left. I missed the opportunity of building a team in a fast paced environment; getting my hands dirty and problem solving. Ops touches all aspects of the company and I see our department as the backbone of everything RUN needs to do, today and moving forward to deliver successful results to our clients.
What does your day to day look like? What projects do you work on?
My day to day is fairly varied. A good amount of my time is spent managing the team; providing guidance on a myriad of internal issues, while interacting with external partners to keep us running efficiently.
One of my first goals when I took over the department was to create specialized teams that worked on mastering specific areas as they relate to campaign set-up/success. We’re rolling out a Performance and QA team that has been a huge focus for me.
What are you most passionate about in the ad tech space?
I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and Ops is no better place for that. The speed at which the industry moves creates an urgent and chaotic (at times) environment in which I thrive. As soon as you figure out what’s going on, everything changes and you need to pivot towards whatever’s new. It’s vibrant and benefits the best and brightest.
What’s your guilty pleasure and why?
I like chick flicks, correction LOVE chick flicks. I find them hilarious in a non-ironic way. I’ve argued the merits of The Notebook too many times to count, and have seen Titanic enough to know that Cal Hockley is the most quotable villain of all time. “You can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about Titanic!!”
If you could go on a date with any of the First Ladies, who would it be and why?
Book me for the Hilldawg. I bet she has some stories!
