I live in the USA, and grew up moving a lot. I’ve had many friends of various color. I never realized that there were differences until a friend told me that we could no longer be friends because her parents told her that I was “white”. Racism is not in our colors, it is in the attitudes of individuals and what they teach their children. I have been discriminated against because I am White, a woman and later because a went Blind.
I am not Talking about politics, laws or even rights…but rather I am talking simply about the way we treat each other. The simple concept of acceptance and love toward a fellow human being; regardless of race, color, gender, nationality, political views or religion is the most important concept we can live and teach our children.
