It’s like rhetorical wack-a-mole with you. Your sad tale of being cast about by The Troubles was a quaint attempt to deflect but you’ve miscast your role. There’s no bragging rights to be had. Your family borrowed. You didn’t “lift yourself up”, the pedestal you’re so happy to stand on was built by someone else.

My question is at what point is personal responsibility supposed to become a thing in your world? Can I be a victim my whole life?

Can you…? You also said “The past is not the present”. Odd for someone who’s ‘not a victim’ having a sad tale of your parents ready to hand for changing the subject. What on earth does this have to do with a Black guy stating he’s unwilling to indulge the American press’ obsession with sanctifying white victims of police brutality and vilifying or ignoring non-white? Good grief man, pick a premise. For someone who specifically called attention to the author misspelling Ms Damond’s name, you sure did forget about her quickly.
