Blog Ideas That Will Get People to Come Back to Your Blog

What to do with my blog that will be so special and interesting to make users come back to read it all the time?

A lot of bloggers nowadays struggle to find the answer to this question. Apart from the content — I think is obvious that it has to be superb — they search for ways to enhance the traffic and simply add the X factor that will change the way people see their blog.

What if I tell you that I have just the blog ideas you need? I know you’re impatient to find out which they are, so let’s go.

Relate the unrelated

People like to read about stuff that are not really connected to a specific niche but are cleverly incorporated in it. What I mean is that a great idea would be to take a random subject that isn’t a part of the topics you cover and make it a part of them.

For example, Devin Berglund used this idea in her guest post “Are you in a complicated relationship with your characters?” She’s a writer of fiction and a blogger so she perfectly merged those things together. By comparing writing characters to complicated relationships she basically related the unrelated giving a little fun to her blog and her readers. An awesome idea, right?

YAY! A blog hop!

What do you say about opening all windows wide and letting fresh air inside your blog? Such a cool idea, is it not? Then a blog hop is what you need. Select a theme or a topic just like hosting a party and encourage users to participate in it by posting or just commenting. The fun of having different things to write about every day will pull a lot of the users to come back to your blog. Also don’t forget to set the rules and schedule it for a certain amount of time.

For instance, if you run a fashion blog, an interesting blog hop would be to provide topics like “Your favorite fashion style”, “The look on the red carpets that you adore”, “Types of shoes that you would wear for a night out” and so on. That way users will have unique and challenging stuff to write about during the hop.

An inside interview

Media interview

There’s nothing like revealing some unknown details from the background to trigger the people’s interest. That’s another idea you can try out. If you have a team running the blog with you like your friends or relatives then interview, them and post the questions and answers on your blog. In case you run it by your own it would be also fun to interview yourself and post the answers publicly. Hey, let’s see what they do behind the blogging, the users would say and come back to your blog to read about the details from your and your team’s lives. That’s what you want, right?

To illustrate, let’s say that you’re a food blogger. Gather the people that help you run the blog or sit by yourself before the computer screen and type questions and answers.

You: “What do you adore eating?”
Team member or you: “For me chocolate is the real deal. In every combination possible. I just looove it. In cakes, on pancakes, on bread, in bars and lollipops and ice-cream. Chocolate is everything for me. It cheers me up and makes me forget about all the bad things in my life.”

I think you get the point. Let the users peek into the ones standing behind the blog and you’ll surely attract the readers to your blog.

How it’s cooked

A brilliant idea would be to show your readers how you make the posts. What’s your secret recipe to writing them as you do? This must remind you of food recipes. Good. Then you know what I’m talking about. Just like explaining a recipe for cooking a chicken soup, write down the ingredients of your unique posts down and openly publish them on your blog.

People love to see what your inspiration is or where you find topics to write about so don’t be shy to give them that. Also you don’t always have to write the recipe for yourself or your writing.

Provide details about how other stuff in your niche are made, too. A few ideas to use are:

  • The recipe for successful blogging
  • The recipe for writing the perfect post in your niche
  • Make this by yourself (accompanied by illustrative and creative pictures of food that can be related to something in your niche)

LOL! ROFL!

People love to smile. They simply adore encountering humor everywhere they go. That doesn’t exclude your blog, either. That’s where another great blog idea comes into focus. Parody posts or posts filled with jokes connected to your niche. Research a little or ask here and there and create a collection of the funniest jokes around. By publishing them as a separate post on a Friday or during the weekend is a total win that will bring back the users to your blog. Actually they’ll run back to it.

The same applies to the parody posts. For instance, observe Devin Berglund’s parody post with Taylor Swift’s song Shake It Off. See what I’m talking about?

Happy birthday to you!

Enjoy your birthday cake in party

Celebrate your blog’s birthday with your users. There’s not a better idea to lure them back to you than that. Publish on all platforms that the celebration will last the whole week and think of something interesting to offer every day.

For example, back to the fashion blog, on Monday you can give away a free eBook with the latest trends, on Tuesday a pair of high-heels to lucky subscribers, on Wednesday a post about your secret path to success and so on. With that not only that you’ll make your blog more visited but also compelling enough to capture everyone’s attention.

All of these blog ideas are a perfect way to freshen up your blog and throw bait for the readers to come back and stay reading your posts longer. Using all of these is an amazing idea itself so you should definitely implement them. Go and cook, celebrate birthdays, blog hops, jokes and parodies with your readers, conduct interviews and relate the unrelated on your way to making your blog a wonderful plethora of interesting and fun blog posts. Tell us which of these you’ll be using in the comments.
