I’m well aware of all those things. Unlike you, I’ve actually worked with victims of modern-day slavery. I’ve also spent time in war zones from Rwanda to Bosnia. I told these stories to American for many years. So I don’t think I’ll listen to a glib lecture. I don’t understand your complaint. Is it that “everyone else did it, so why hold us accountable?” Or is it “the Africans had a less technologically advanced society so they were asking for it.” To me it’s not about guilt, it’s about accountability. We talk accountability in this country but wind up with screeds like yours that just spout anger.
