Hi Paul and thanks for reading and responding. I do agree, there are times when we are clued in and adding to the conversation through interruption (e.g., when my 17yo daughter and I discuss movies and books, and finish each others sentences) moves a lively conversation forward! Or if my guy and I are discussing a piece of writing — what works and what doesn’t — although, as I say in the article, he’s quite interruption avoidant, likely because of what I experienced previously.

Maybe being aware of it happening is really the first step.
