First off I want to ask “why isnt there anything on the internet about drying out tea bags?” I searched high and low for something, anything, from sitting tall at my table to laying on the couch. Its obviously important information for one to have! Since theres 0 information, I had to take matters into my own hands and use my brain to figure out how I can dry these out without it taking weeks!

This was the outcome of that.

PS. I had to go in the trash for this tea bag.

The problem with this one is that I squeezed the water out of it and then let it dry. DONT DO THAT.

My next thought was “I’ll just blow dry them” HA! Idiot. I did that for probably 3 minutes and saw nothing happening. If you have patience to sit down and blow dry some tea bags for 2 days straight, be my guest. No promises that it will work though.

I was clearly desperate.

THEN, the ultimate idea “lets dehydrate them in the oven!” I was a little iffy on it because I didnt want a fire to start, and I was also scared that I would again lose another batch of tea bags and “time is money” right? So I put 1 tea bag in the toaster oven just so I could watch what happens. I saw nothing but good things happening so I took a leap of faith. After a couple deep breaths and a word of encouragement from my sister, I turned to the master oven, I decided that its just a batch, and a day lost.I dont plan on dying anytime soon so why the hell not.

I set the oven to 185F, and flipped them every 20 minutes.
It took about 2 hours to finish drying. You can leave them in longer, it wont cause anything to damage.

I am now a happy person, with dry tea bags! So there you go, people of the internet! Get to making some tea bag art!

ps. emptying the tea from the bag is a no brainer ;).

These are a few of my lovely creations.
I am currently making some families happy with these little guys.
An Etsy account will be available soon!
