S.P. Oil (fiction)
After graduating from Harvard University twenty eight years ago I joined S.P. Oil as an executive assistant. After stepping over a few heads who probably were not my friends anyway I was appointed CEO after five years.Though it almost cost me the loving family I cared so deeply for I felt on top of the world.
Coincidentally that’s one of the regions I focused on developing in order to achieve the kind of ROI (return on investment) my share holders and Board of directors demanded. The real bonus came with the escalation in fracking. Forcing fresh water into a hole and forcing oil to where you can grab it, marvelous process. Yes it’s unfortunate that the water used can never be cleaned and used again, there’s lot’s of fresh water around don’t let them tell you different.
Global warming, come on, listen to the knowledgeable individuals like Mitch McConnell who stood in front of Congress and stated that the largest lie ever perpetrated on the american people is that global warming exists. Not to mention the crazy alternative energy ideas we had to buy and bury.
My young son came to me one day after watching a news report of an oil spill we had encountered and was crying because there were sea animals and birds soaked in oil and suffocating. Thank God the damn media move on quickly to important issues like stock prices. Anyway I set him down and explained there would be instances where nature would be impacted but there is so much nature out there for him to experience that he needed to focus on that. He seemed to buy it.
So now retiring to our property in the Cayman Islands I welcome his visits from Harvard University where he is studying law and is promised a bright future with S.P.oil. Standing here on my twenty two thousand square foot veranda overlooking the ocean I can’t help thinking “It’s all good”
