No improvement? You seriously think living in a feudal society is equivalent to living under communism? These were social experiments with no precedent and were fought constantly by the moneyed interests of the time. In the same way they still fight ideas that stipulate a level of ownership of society for every citizen. This enabled those in charge of communist nations to frame any opposition as being controlled by greedy capitalists, their societies closed up and people became miserable and oppressed. However, Russians did manage to educate enough people so produce superior rocket engines that were bought and used by the US up until recently. Life expectancy was better, Cuba now has FAR better health outcomes than the US. Need I mention Chinese standard of living, education, income, health etc? (I ofted hear the arguments “but China is massive, of course they can dominate economically”…out of the other side of the mouth “South American countries brought it on themselves, it has nothing to do with having a dominant neighbour who constantly fucks with their politics”).

We will always have people who express unreasonable expectations of those not politically aligned with themselves. We need to recognise these outliers and call them out so they don’t get away with bogarting the narrative leading to conflict. In western nations, this has precipitated in McCarthyism1.0 and 2.0 now in force as well as the generation of acrimony towards muslims as they are uniformly cast as murderous theocratic tyrants.

I don’t think your comment extends beyond “but communism”. Here’s a tweet that might help your understanding of Caitlin’s position. Warning - it requires objectivity to fathom.
